Corona-Virus: Update 21/03/2020


To counteract the further spread of COVID-19 ("Coronavirus"), the State and University Library Bremen will be closed at all sites until 19/04.

Our extensive range of electronic resources continues to be available to you. You can access approximately 67 million electronic resources via our catalogue.
The resources that we have licensed for you from the publishers can be accessed by all students and staff of Bremen universities via VPN.
We currently focus on extending our electronic resources collection. Please let us know which resources you need using our request form...

Borrowing or returning media:

  • No books can be taken out on loan til 19/04.
  • Books and interlibrary loans cannot be returned. There are no reminder fees.
  • Media waiting to be collected at the at the circulation desk (inter-library loans, reservations, requests for orders) can be collected on re-opening.
  • Digital resources (e-books, e-journals, databases, etc.) are of course still available under the usual conditions of use.

  • Our staff will work from home from 23/03 to 04/04.
  • Please contact us by mail: . We will do our best to answer your concerns promptly. Of course, you can also email the staff members who you usually deal with directly, as all colleagues regularly read their e-mails, provided they have not been taken ill.
  • The German interlibrary loan service has come to a standstill as most of the libraries are closed.
